In addition to management skills, the student will learn functions vital to the administration of a medical office. Much of these functions will be administered using modern medical management software.

While management, administration and lab techniques are important in a health care office or lab, communication is important to the overall effectiveness of any business operation. As a medical assisting management graduate, the student will have learned how to communicate both orally and in written form the requirements, needs and procedures of patient and medical staff alike.

Some forms of communication a graduate may encounter include correspondence with medical suppliers, after-care instructions as directed by a doctor and communication with medical specialist on behalf of a patient.
