About our Building Maintenance & Repair Diploma
The Building Maintenance and Repair (BMR) program prepares the student for maintenance technician positions in the residential, apartment, and hotel industries. Areas of study include air-conditioning systems, heating systems, installation of various bathroom fixtures, kitchen appliances, and plumbing components for water and drainage.
New construction of buildings and grounds requires technicians to professionally complete installation of flooring, tiling, and roofing. Additionally, technicians will use the skills they have learned to erect walls, install sheet rock, prepare pools, and troubleshoot electric or natural gas water heaters, residential major appliance installation, plumbing, and electrical wiring. BMR technicians play a pivotal role in commercial and residential facilities maintenance and the myriad employment opportunities in the industry.
