The Future of Energy: Benefits of Wind Turbine Technician Training
Our 12-month program introduces you to the fundamentals of generating electrical power from wind energy. You’ll learn about wind turbine safety, how to climb wind towers, and the intricacies of electrical theory. Our curriculum covers electrical circuits, electrical test equipment, alternating current and three-phase systems, circuit breakers and fuses, switching devices, and wind turbine power distribution systems. You’ll also gain hands-on experience with fasteners and torquing, bearings, lubrication, and hydraulic systems associated with wind turbines.

Our program offers the opportunity to complete certifications to further advance your knowledge, while giving you a competitive edge in the job market which include:
- Maritime-based certification(s)
- The National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) Introduction to Power Industry and Wind Turbine Maintenance Level I certification(s)
- CPR/Basic Life Support

Program Requirements: Your Checklist for Entry into Wind Turbine Technician Training
Students enrolling in the Wind Turbine Technician program need to meet the following requirements:
- Be 18 or older or have an approved cosigner if under 18
- Have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Have a government-issued photo ID such as a driver’s license, state ID, or passport
- Wind Turbine Technician students are required to submit to a criminal background check. Potential students pending charges or that have been charged with a misdemeanor or felony or otherwise are ineligible for a TWIC card will not be allowed admittance into the Wind Turbine Technician program.
